Château des Baux-de-Provence

Overlooking the famous village of Les Baux-de-Provence, the Château des Baux stands on a rocky spur. This naturally perched and entrenched position on the Baux plateau meant that it was possible to observe the surrounding area and protect itself, which no doubt explains why it was occupied very early on and almost continuously right up to the present day.
